If a reboot does not help, or the problem comes back, call and request a tech visit for a signal and drop line test. We had this same issue with our DVR not recording at times, or we would get "Channel Not Available" issues. Turned out to a wiring issue that got fixed. Our DVR has not missed a, show since.
Most importantly, don't reboot any boxes or equipment for at least six hours prior to your appointment. The tech needs to see the signal level errors and a reboot of equipment resets them. If your On Demand does not play regularly or starts and stops, that is also strong evidence of a signal or drop line issue. A new or swapped box NEVER solves bad signals or line issues, so those must be tested first.
