Some confusion here. Are you seeing the E-3 code in the box window where the clock is, or are you seeing the E-3 error on the On Demand screen itself? If you are seeing E-3 as an error code on the On Demand channel, that is an issue with On Demand. If you are seeing an issue with E-3 in the box clock's window. that is a box problem,
Power off the box and unplug it, allowing it to reboot. When the clock comes back on the screen allow thirty minutes for any updates to take place and try again.
Regardless if the box reboots again or if On Demand works or not after this, I would recommend that you keep your service appointment. You may have a signal or drop line issue that the tech should check. Bad signals or drop lines are the number one reason for On Demand not working. Try not to reboot your devices, such as modems, boxes, or routers for six hours, so that the tech can get an accurate reading of the signal codes.
Note that excessively rebooting boxes are almost always box issues that require a swap. Unless your signals are really low forcing the reboots. Pixilation, On Demand not working, are almost never box issues, and are almost always signal and line issues.
Watch the box after the cold reboot and as I said keep your appointment regardless.. Post back after your appointment!
