Re: Email from yahoo.com to TWC accounts rejected by TWC

When I send from my Yahoo account to my TWC account it takes 5-8 minutes to arrive online at TWC/Spectrum. It takes even longer to be picked up by my Microsoft Outlook software using IMAP.

 

What's the problem between Yahoo and TWC/Spectrum?

The problem is the age of the TWC/Roadrunner Email technology.  Now over fifteen years old.  Cable providers were never intended to be email providers, nor Dish, nor U-Verse for that matter.

 

Your son has a great convenience in using a Web Mail account.  Yahoo Mail, Outlook.com, and Gmail are all examples of Web Mail accounts,  Accessible from any computer or mobile device with a web browser and Internet connection, Web Mail goes with you and stays with you for the rest of your life.  Think about this,  If you were to drop your TWC/Spectrum Internet service tomorrow, you would lose ALL of your email on that ancient Road Runner account.  There are no future plans to update RoadRunner.  It's a grandfather claused feature left over from the TWC days.  Because it's no longer supported, that is exactly why you are having the above problems.

 

Switch to Gmail, Outlook.com, or Yahoo Mail like your son has done.  Put your Roadrunner contacts in there.  Make sure to also get an adblocker to block out banner ads in web mail for each of your browsers.  Only one blocker per browser if you don't already have one.  I recommend Ad Block Plus.
