Finally, after putting up with undelivered emails for several weeks now, I decided to call tech support and was on a support call for over an hour. The result of that call was simply to escalate it to another team and I'm promised a response within 3-5 business days. In the meantime, I have found an unacceptable workaround in these forums. I can't use it. That workaround involves setting my SMTP (outgoing) mail server settings to use the roadrunner SMTP domain and without authentication. This works in getting the email to the intended recipient. But for me, this is not workable.
My domains are not POP but IMAP. This means my email gets replicated on all my computers and I have a record of all emails, both sent and received. That's what IMAP does. However, once I utilize this workaround, the sent email is only persisted on the original machine. It never gets synced to my other machines and devices.
I am hoping someone at Spectrum can report as to what change was made and why. After all, this worked for years! Why not revert back whatever change you made so your customers are cared for.
Note: I have both a Spectrum home and a Spectrum business account and this happens with both accounts.
Hi!
The problem is that the Roadrunner Email that you are using is no longer supported or updated by Spectrum. It is simply being grandfather claused from the old TWC system, and because of its age, fifteen years old, the problems that you are having are perfect examples of the issues with legacy TWC Roadrunner accounts.
Searches for email and recommendations on the forum from users, OVERWHELMING suggest a change to a web-based email account. Get Gmail, Yahoo Mail, or Outlook.com and one pop-up blocker for each of your browsers to block banner ads. You will have a much better, more modern, and more secure email system.
Additionally, Gmail has Office Suite integration with Google Drive, and Outlook.com will give you access to Microsoft Office Online, with about ninety percent of the paid features. Yahoo Mail has a nice interface as well.
The best thing is that a web-mail account can be accessed from any device in the world with an Internet connection, and will be available to you for the rest of your life. If Spectrum ever decided to discontinue Roadrunner after a heads up grace period, all of your Roadrunner emails would be gone! I would switch to a free Web Mail provider. Web Mail is better in every way. Get one of the three above with Adblock Plus for each browser if you don't already have an adblocker.
