Bad News,

ABC TV is dropping one of my favorite stations in the Milwaukee area, Movies! And replacing it with yet another reality-based show Milwaukee Justice Network on September 1, 2018.  Source: https://www.jsonline.com/story/entertainment/television-radio/2018/08/15/wisn-tv-replacing-movies-channel-crime-focused-justice-milwaukee/978262002/

I am so upset by this that I am sending the following letter to WISN TV, (Our ABC afflilate in Milwaukee) Programing Management Team:  Here is the body of that letter:

Programing Management

759 N. 19th St.

Dear Sir or Madam:

This letter concerns the decision to remove the Movies! Network from Channel 12 ABC subchannels and Spectrum Cable, replacing it with The Milwaukee Justice Network on September 1, 2018. As a movie buff and noted historian, it is shocking that a decision would be made to remove this great station!

For years, I have waited for a 24-hour movie station to come to Milwaukee, as countless friends and colleges of mine live for the history, culture, and passion of movies! Many of these people can’t afford cable TV, so having this channel is the only way to see so many classic films, many rare foreign classics that can’t be found anywhere else.

We can’t fathom why management would choose bring in another useless, crime and justice station onto the system. The networks have too many crime and justice shows now. We don’t need more reality TV! There are no stations on over the air TV that show movies exclusively, and the removal of the Movies! Channel for another reality TV station shows a lack of commitment to quality programing and an apathetic attitude toward your viewers. We didn’t even get five months of the Movies! Channel on Spectrum before it just yanked away. Please reconsider your decision to drop the Movies Channel from Milwaukee area Over the air, and Spectrum Cable systems.

********************************************

This means that Spectrum and Weigal Broadcasting may need to find a new sub-station for this network.  If plans remain the same, it will no longer be on Channel 985 or local 12.2 after September 1, 2018.
