Prior to last night’s update, you could use the directional arrows (left, right, and “select/ok”) to rewind, FF, and pause/play programs you had recorded on your DVR. Now, the left and right buttons only pull up a Spectrum menu and the “select/ok” button only unpauses the program, it won’t pause it. Please change it back to how it was. The larger size of the directional buttons and their position on the remote make them more comfortable to use than the dedicated FF, rewind, pause, etc. buttons.
It looks like the “A” button now pulls up Closed Captioning and SAP options, but those are already the first options that appear when you press the “settings” button, so couldn’t “A” pull up that Spectrum menu that’s currently being pulled up with the left and right arrows? Besides, all the options in that Spectrum menu have their own dedicated buttons on the remote, so I don’t think it’s vital to have them there when the playback options would be more useful.
Also, would it be possible to add the directional button playback capabilities to live tv that has been recorded/paused? The live tv, even if you start recording, has never had the playback capabilities for the directional buttons (the left/right buttons have always just pulled up that Spectrum menu like they are now in the recorded programs).
Thank you.
Hello,
The A button had been redundant showing the Quick Start TV on Menu as well as the left-arrow and Menu button, We now have a new use for the A button- "Accessibility" for CC and SAP programs. It saves extra steps in the Settings Menu.
I believe that the arrow buttons that surround the Select button FF and RW functionality were taken out with this update.
