Trying to see the Fox Business Channel thru a cable box and it pixelates causing it to lose video then returns then again it goes away. Is it the box, the signal or what?

Hi Alan,

Pixilation is almost always a signal and drop line problem and almost never a box problem.  How long has Fox News been pixilating and where are you located? (City, State, and Zip.)  If the problem has not resolved itself within 12 hours, contact Spectrum for a signal and drop line test.

Box reboots will always cause the pixilation to come back within hours to days.  You need a signal and drop line test.  The scripted response from calling in will say, "reboot your box" but this, if it works at all, will only be a temporary fix.

When you schedule the test, avoid resetting any boxes, modems, or routers for six hours prior to your service call.  Equipment resets will set the error codes back to zero, and the tech needs to see the error codes.

Tune to Fox News when the tech comes so he can take a signal reading.  A new box won't solve bad signal issues or line problems.  You have something with your wiring inside or outside the home, or your drop line, or your tap, or a signal splitter messing up the signal.  Bad storms, old wiring, animal chews will cause these things to happen.
