So -- Wouldn't it be wonderful if ... Spectrum had a
1) Cloud DVR
2) Easy to navigate on-screen guide
3) Easy integration with voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa or Googe
(i.e., Alexa FIND the movie Die Hard NOW)
4) TV packages that were easy to understand (i.e, I hesitated switching
from an old TWC package to a Spectrum package because I couldn't
understand the equivalencies and I didn't want to talk to a marketing CSR.)
5) A remote that didn't forget how it was programmed.
6) A package that didn't cost an arm and a leg to have just high
speed internet and digital TV
It isn't likely to happen in my lifetime.
Maybe I should cut the cord.
And so on and so on ... Any other thoughts?
Some good points raised. But so much depends on your individual needs, budget, and enviornment:
1.) Cloud DVR- Is being developed. You will be able to swap converters and your shows will be pinned to your account and once activated, will come back to your DVR.
2.) Some guides have better navigation than others, depend on the age of box and the software on the box. What specifically do you need help navigating?
3.) Interaction with Google or Alexa would requiring licencing fees from those companies being passed on to subscribers. Alexa is Amazon, and this would result in higher billing costs. Not good.
4.) What TV packages confuse you? There is Spectrum Choice, Spectrum Select, Spectrum Silver, and Spectrum Gold. Here is a package filtering websiite:
https://www.cabletv.com/charter/channel-lineup
5) Only time you should have to reprogram your remote is if you get a new TV. To get the TV code to turn the TV on and off. Change the batteries to fresh ones. If the problem continues, call Spectrum to send you a new remote, or you can exchange it at a Spectrum Store.
6.) You can call Spectrum or go to a store and ask about combo deals for Internet and Cable TV.
7.) You can switch companies, but when your promotion is up after a year or two years, they will begin to boost you up to regular rates. All the providers now do that.
