For example currently playing on TCMHD (631) is "The Divorce of Lady X". The guide gives the correct year 1938 but the info shows the year as 2003.
Hi 13,
Gracenote provides the movie listing data for Spectrum's Guide's and there are several films that are off by a year, and a few cases they are WAY off on some of the older films. Some titles have been corrected, but others have not,
I was one of the first to actually report this bug a few years ago. If you search for the key terms relating to this, a thread might actually come up.
I no longer make an issue about the minor search errors, because Spectrum finally has all of the elements of the search working, and I would hate have them mess something up majorly, to fix something minor like movie listing data off by a year.
I think Gracenote provides that data on a "Best Fit" basis, but it's not guaranteed by any means. Years ago, I had a good connection with the main listings editor at Tribune Media Services before Gracnote purchased them. I had them correct some small guide errors and they were done within five business days! Now with Gracenote, it's changed so much, that I can't find a contact person, and like I said almost don't want to anymore because of things working well mentioned above.
