The emergency alert system is not activating properly on my two set top boxes in Cincinnati Ohio. Everytime it activates it just shows a black blank screen on both my boxes but it does not display the message and it does not sound the EAS tone. I have a Technicolor 9865HDC and a Cisco 4742HDC both boxes are having this issue.

Sup Toolman?

Most concerns that Spectrum gets are the EAS Alerts freezing up the box and than we have had cases where they don't go away after rebooting.  You are one of the first to mention the EAS system not working! LOL!

If the box functionality is OK, especially when the EAS system is gone, I would not worry about it at all.  The likely culprit is that your head-end has something screwed up with EAS Alerts.  It's not your boxes or signals on your end.  Put your city and zip code in a reply to this post and a mod can make a note of this and send it to your division.

You won't need to replace anything or do a service call.  It's how your division is sending out the EAS signals.  What you can do as an option, is take a screen shot of this the next time that it happens for us to capture the issue.
