Does the backlight on your remote control ever stay lit,
after you have put the remote down????
It's happened several times to both of our remotes.
I will turn off the TV and STB with the ALL button, then place
the remote on the end table and head up to bed.
When I come back down in the morning... the backlights on
the remote will still be lit.
I can press the OK button while its sitting on the table... and the
backlight will dim and go off.
It doesn't hurt anything.... except for running throught AA Batteries
all the time.

Since this is an issue with two remotes of the same model I am assuming that a software update on those remotes now keeps the Clickr Backlite lit. The model that I have goes out automatically after about one minute of non-use. It is also the same model as yours.
In your case to save battery life, only use the backlite option at night when you can't see the numbers and click ok to turn off the light when not in use. If the backight is on, does it go off when you press the baclite button again?
