My area (UpState NY) just had a major outage. After service was restored my DVR Box (Arris) would no longer record although all  channels were in service. First tech could not help, suggested I swap box. Swapped Box was no better... in fact it was worse as I no longer had service at all. Second tech said the problem was a signal issue and never the box. After multiple tried she was able to return DVR to operational mode. BUT somewhere in the process the "update" totally changed the manner in which my DVR Recorded Shows are stored. The old style grid (like the Guide) with its RECORDED, SCHEDULED, MANAGE headings has been replaced by a stack of program sorted either by date or title. NO WHERE NEAR AS EFFICIENT.  EX: Before if I had 5 episodes of House Hunters taped they would be listed in small type under a single House Hunters Banner. Now each episode is listed separately and stacked so I have to click down thru multiple entries, one at a time.  Is this a new menu for stored episodes? Did I inadvertely change a setting? Same box so I expected the same menus.... Can anyone explain ??? Thanks.

Greetings,

Since the box data is cloud based on the newer models, the Aris being one of them, a tech told me that sometimes in the event of a power loss, you may see issues with the menus and DVR recording lists, such as you described.  It's not a signal issue with your lines or wiring, but it is a signal issue with the way that the data gets pinged from the head end to your box.  The menu search data and the record list can become "funky."

To get the menus back, power off your box, than unplug it for several minutes.  Plug it back in and let the system reboot.  Menus and DVR Manager should now look like they did before the outage.  If this does not fix the issue, than please contact TWC with your account information at this linK

Explain your issue and refer them to this thread.  If the cold reboot does not work, your drop line may have suffered damagae due to the storm, and would need to be replaced.  A cold reboot of the box should fix this.  Post back!
