The DVR is almost unusable. Recordings are listed in a nonsensical order, based on episode number or date seemingly at random. Half the time trying to select one of these lists results in the list failing to load and being unable to access recordings at all. What is worse is every time I have voiced this concern I have been told that hundreds of others have already voiced an identical concern, and that nothing is being done to fix the problem. This new system is terrible to the point that I am ready to end my service altogether.
I could go on and on about the individual bugs that make this problem so big, but I'm tired of repeating myself only to be told, "too bad, that's the way it is." When will this be fixed?!There are bugs in the system,
I don't have the randomness problem with shows or series listed out of order and most of the time, my recordings play fine. On Demand will sometimes not work, but most of the time it does. Based on customer responses, many have had problems with On Demand. Year of movie release listing data is off by a year, and the keyboard search on the Advanced boxes will often not two shows of the same name from different eras. You can search my Screen Name for more details on these issues in my posts.
Updating these boxes is NEVER easy. There is a ton of testing protocol that goes into this planning based on the type of box you have, the software installed, individual nodes and head-ends relaying of the transmission and receiving of data, broadcast changes. In addition to the fact that Gracenote, note Spectrum does the guide listing data for many media outlets.
All we can do is wait for the next released update to The Guide, and hope that it addresses the bugs reported.

Thier is no new roll out or bug fixes for Navigator comming out. They will be rolling out Spectrum Guide which will replace Navigator starting in the new year. Their will supposedly be the option to opt in to get the update faster.
Where did you hear this? Legacy Charter areas have been promised the guide by the end of the year and that was two years ago. I am not expected any changes any time soon. They don't even have all their offces converted to Spectrum on the billing statements. Very very few markets have the new Spectrum guide. Spectrum needs to mold Navigator into their guide and call it a day.
