Make sure that your receiver is vented properly. If in a cabinet, it is best that the cabinet is open (no door.) and that you allow for AT LEAST 2 inches of vent space on the top and bottom of the receiver Also, two inches open on the top and bottom of the cabinet should be open if it has a door. Avoid stacking your equipment. (Putting one device on top the other.) If you must stack your equipment, allow the proper ventilation recommended above so that the smallest device with the least weight is always on top.
If you can touch the receiver following the above ventilation steps, it can feel warm to moderately hot. These boxes can generate a lot of heat. However, if you put your hand on the box and you feel pain or discomfort from the heat, the box is too hot and could be overheating.
