One step forward, two steps back. My Lord in heaven why has the practice of increasing the volume of commercials reappeared? Is everyone at Spectrum unaware that in the past this was an extreme negative resulting in significant decreases in customer satisfaction? I personally mute commercials again as do many others I know. It’s more practical than wearing ear protection as when mowing the lawn. I don’t listen to any commercials any more as I find the extreme volume annoying. I doubt your advertisers intended people not to listen to their pitches. I am indeed an older person and can tell you we are not all hard of hearing. I am also a retired Nurse/Educator so can also tell you that it’s ability to hear high pitched tones that decreases with normal aging, NOT VOLUME! Is that agism and profiling? Please bear in mind that ticked off elders with time on their hands can be a force to be reckoned with.😕

Hello Lake,

There are ways that you can stabalize the sound of commercials. On your remote control press Settings, and go to Devices. In there is an Audio setting. Set that audio setting to "Fixed."

Additionally, you can adjust your TV's audio settings if you have a reasonably modern set within the last ten years. Look for an audio setting to enable Loudness Equalization on your TV. This will help keep the commercials the same volume level as the program.
