When I ordered my cable at the office I specifically asked what my bill would be. I was assured it would be $120 per month, there was nothing said about any promotional rate. Now I get my bill this month telling me the promotion I. Was not told about has expired and they are extending me as a valued customer a new preference rate, IE a $30 increase in my bill! Way to acknowledge a loyal customer. This is the reason customers have to switch between cable and dish every year or so to obtain a fair price. .dish still sends me weekly offers for equivalent tv channels for less then what time warner is wanting to charge me now. Apparently they appreciate a loyal customer that always pays his bills on time!

Hi Steve,

I would contact TWC through this forum here via PM.  Send the PM to with your name, phone number, and account number and see if they can offer you a better deal.  While you certainly have the right to switch to Dish Network, I cannot tell you the number of times that Dish has dropped channels because of retransmission consent renewal failures.  Unfortunately, all providers will go up after the promotional rate has expired.

Last year, we checked around and found out that Dish and Direct TV had some pretty good promotional deals.  But they only have DSL for Internet, which sucks compared to high speed Internet from TWC, and you can't beat TWC's Digital Phone Services for features and value anywhere.  We have Triple Play, but do have to call and work with retentions to get our bill lowered.  Dish and Direct TV, boost your rates back up by about $40 to $50 after the first two years.

I do agree with you that TWC should offer an automatic seniority discount for loyal customers!  It sucks having to contact retentions each year, and we have had cable since 1985! Been with TWC since 1990.  Maybe Charter will give us some new discounts.  If I were you I would call and speak with retentions and see what they say.  Or send a PM at the link indicated above if you get nowhere with retentions. Good luck!
