i am wondering if channels 2-99 are duplicates of the channels 100 and above. it seems like when ever i go through the guide i see alot of duplicate programing in the higher channels but they all say in HD. one would wonder why anyone would still carry standard def content in 2018 when 4k is becoming the norm!!! and now there talking about 8k!!!

The TV prices have dropped so dramatically!

Just looking at Best Buy, our 40" screen Samsung back in 2009 that we paid $1,200 for, comparable is now down to $499 with a bigger screen and the sides are all paper-thing streamlined.

The channels duplicate because of the package levels associated with each service.  MOST (not all) Spectrum markets should now have the HD channel of the station regardless of line up position.  Some markets, you still have to tune to the HD equivlant of the channel.

Of course you must subscribe to the channel in your package, have an HD set, and be properly hooked up with an HD set via HDMI or Component Cable to get the HD version of what is being shown.

There are a few stations that are SD only.  If you get Epix Premium channel, Epix Drive-Inn is only shown in SD, maybe to preserve nostalgia of the 60-80's movies shown on there I don't know.  I think the Drive in Intro concept on that channel is pretty cool.  Some Digital sub-channels may be SD only as well.
