It looks like as usual my email was not read. Why can’t Spectrum NYC get the decades channel. It should not matter that the cable company was called Time Warner when I had the Decades Channel. I pay a lot of money for cable I should not have to use an antenna to get a channel I want.

The FCC has decided that all broadcast stations and programming providers have the right to remove their content from any cable system that doesn't agree to pay their monthly subscriber carriage fees. The cable subscribers can't do anything about it, just pay the bill or drop the service.

And to think I was upset when my son used to accuse our local PBS stations of holding his favorite programming hostage during their annual fund drives.

Hasn't it always been this way?  Or been this way for a long time since retransmission consent was adapted.  If providers can't reach a deal for a new contract, the stations have a right to drop the channel.

Thanks Julia for researching that this is a Fox Subchannel in the OP's market.  The user would have to reach out to Fox in his/her market and get several other people to do so, to begin negotiation with Spectrum for a new carriage deal.  But it has to be at a reasonable monthly rate.
