Lost recordings can be the result of a recording setting, or more likely, the result of a failing hard drive. Sometimes restarting the equipment will restore content. Otherwise, it is likely that the equipment needs to be replaced.

Greetings,
If you had a software update recently, something perhaps did not take. What is the make and model of your DVR? I would recommend powering off the box and unpluging it. Plug the box back into the outlet. Wait for the time to show on the display. Than power on the box:
Important! Your DVR recording percentage may take several hours to go down, If it goes down and stays down, you are all set. The older boxes like the SA models are about 10 years old and have very small hard drives compared to the newer models. Only 160GB, Newer boxes have between 500gb to 1TB of storage. If your DVR fills up again like that, consider swapping it out for a newer model. This would be an Arris, Cisco/Technicolor, or Samsung box.
