As an example, the different layouts of the "list" screen alone are rediculous. There has been about three "new looks" in the past few months alone! Here is an idea, pick something and stick with it!!
Absoultly none of these changes give me any benefit, they are change for the sake of change. Sure I have more options by making me scroll thru menus upon menus, but to do simple things I now have to hit buttons about 5 times when it used to be one or two. We DVR everything we watch, it used to take a few seconds to look at my "list" and pick something to watch, now all of the sudden each show is seperated out and it takes forever to scroll down in the list that is 5 times longer than it used to be and on screen I see less of it than I used too.
I could go on and on about the stupid changesTWC makes, but what's the point?
I realize nothing will come from my complaint, heck you can't even talk to anyone beyond a CSR at TWC. But for me these things add up over time and it's time to find another option.
Greetings,
The newer Spectrum boxes are cloud-data based, and the menus and systems are updated from time to time to reflect the changes in the technology. The goal is to move more and more of the data off of the boxes and onto cloud-based server networks.
If you want less change, you might want to go back to an SA (Scientific Atlanta) DVR. These boxes are updated less and may have more of the straight-forward DVR lists that you are seeking. I have not had an SA model box in years. Maybe someone from the community could provide a screenshot of what an SA model DVR list looks like. Than you could see the changes. They don't have cover art, and last time I used an SA-model box, did not have folders either. I don't think that has changed for the SA boxes.
Be advised that all those SA boxes are refurbished, and have been in the field for about 10-15 years. They are often slow and have limited storage space compared to the modern DVR's The SA boxes also cannot do menus in HD, because of their age. In what division are you located, and what box do you now have?
