Due to the boxes running different hardware because of age variations, not all boxes have the new Guide. SA boxes, Pace boxes, and the older Motorolla boxes (I believe pre-3500 models have not been updated.
Motorola was bought out by Arris and SA was bought out by Cisco. Your best bet would be to go to a Spectrum Store if you are interested in a box with the new guide and swap the older boxes for an Arris, Cisco, or Samsung box. I am not sure what non-DVR models on the Arris have the new guide. I have not had a non-DVR box for years.
You could also set up a service call to go get a tech out to update the older boxes. But in such case, you would have to take what he has on the truck. The Pace boxes are super old. The same is true about the SA boxes. Keep us posted should you upgrade.
