My view,
If this has been an on/off intermittent issue for about a year, it would not be a flagged issue. Have you tried recording other shows on that station? Contact Spectrum for a tech visit and specify that you need a signal and drop-line test I would avoid resetting your box, or any modems or routers for six hours after making the appointment. Doing so resets the error codes coming into the home through your drop line. Tune to CBS when the tech is there so that he can take a signal reading. He must see the error codes.
Best guess is that your signal is dropping at the time that the show is about to record. In addition, remove any splitters that you have connected. They can reduce signal strength. You also need to have the tech check the junction box on your street. Specify this in the work order. A swapped box will not solve bad signals or drop-line issues. You need a service call.
