Now my DVR box is being nutty. I have a Cisco 9865HDC DVR. I have rebooted it multiple times over multiple weeks. The TV guide works fine. The on demand channels are fine. I can watch the recorded shows fine. But deleting a recorded show, scheduled show or series freezes the tv and it has to be restarted. Again, this has been happening for weeks. I have reset the box multiple times.
Any ideas? Do I need another new box?
Hi Kraffy,
I have had the same box for at least a year, with no issues. What you should do is contact Spectrum for a Signal and Drop Line Test as well as a check of the junction box on your street. This sounds like a signal or line issue. A new box will not solve a signal or line issue.
When you set up the service call, you need to avoid resetting your boxes, modems, or any other Spectrum equipment for at least six hours. The tech needs to see the error codes as a part of the signal test. If you reset the equipment, the error codes will drop down to zero. Making the tech see no problem when there could be a problem.
For our reference, Did the box freeze up with the deletion of shows happen right away? When did this start with freezing of the box?
For fastest service. Get a Twitter account or log into Twitter. Go to @Ask Spectrum and follow the account. You must follow to get updates to your inquiries. After that, tell them about the box freezing up when shows and series are deleted and that you need to set up a service call for a signal and drop-line test, as well as a street junction-box check. Provide your account information as well by sending a Direct Message (DM) to Spectrum.
Post back after the tech visit!
