I would suggest a cold reboot of the box. Power off the box, unplug it for like a minute, and than plug it back in, allowing it to reboot. If that does not work, or the problem comes back, get a tech out to check your signals and drop line to make sure that they are OK. This sounds like a bad box, but really low signal levels can also cause boxes to get stuck.
Try not to reboot your equipment for six hours prior to your service call to avoid resetting of the error codes. Reboots reset the signal levels to zero. This helps the tech get a more accurate signal reading. What is the make and model of this box?
