I keep getting all these spam emails. I try to put them in my blocked senders, and it says failed. When I manually try to add them, it says they are already on the blocked list. Why do these emails keep getting through?

Thanks.

Hello,

In recent years, reaseach shows that data providers like Spectrum who do CATV/Phone/Internet/Mobile services are not really good at email security.  Spectrum email goes back to the dated TWC Road-Runner protocols, and Spectrum, like many other providers, where email is not a top priority, provide their email product "As is."

My recommendation would be to sign up for an always free webmail provider such as Gmail, Yahoo Mail, or Outlook.com.  You will be able to access webmail from any device in the world with an Internet connection, MUCH better security, and MUCH better spam guards.  Most importantly, you will be able to access a webmail account for the rest of your life, whereas, if you drop Spectrum, or they suddenly decide to stop offering email, you will lose all your messages and contacts.

I would use Yahoo Mail, Gmail, or Outlook.com. in place of Spectrum Mail.  Get an Adblocker (only one per browser) if you don't already have one, to stop the email banner ads.  I recommend Ad Block Plus.  Also, if you get Outlook.com or Gmail, you'll have a wonderful fully functional Online Office Suite (Outlook.com) = Office/Ondrive.com or (Gmail)= Google Drive.
