It could be one of two things:
- A bad signal or drop line
- A bad box, or a box going bad.
The first thing to do is to get a tech out to check your signals and drop line. A swapped box will not solve bad signals or line problems. Specify that you need a signal and drop line check due to frequent inability to record shows, and the blank screen on playback showing on your DVR. Report these issues, and send your account information to Spectrum via PM at this link
The tech will evaluate your signal levels and update your drop line if needed. Please also request in the work order that the main junction box on your street be checked. Bad weather, animal chews, aging lines can cause signal problems affecting TV, Internet, and Phone services.
If your signals, lines and wiring are good, the tech should than swap out the box. Let us know how this goes for you.
